Things to Do in Bonita Springs

Experience a Bonita Springs vacation! Nestled between Naples and Fort Myers, there are sparkling beaches, endless dining options, exceptional shops, and a wide array of outdoor activities.

Bonita Springs is a former plantation that once produced pineapple, coconuts, and bananas. It was named for a medicinal spring on the nearby Shangri-La property. Family friendly attractions abound. The Wonder Gardens is a botanical garden and refuge with more than 300 rescued or non-releasable birds and reptiles. Explore the Imperial River by kayak as you paddle under a canopy of oaks and pines. Local outfitters have all the gear you need to check out this section of the Great Calusa Blueway paddling trail.

Be sure to include a visit to Lovers Key State Park during your Bonita Springs vacation. These barrier islands are reachable by boat. Enjoy shelling, swimming, hiking, biking, and fishing at this tropical paradise.

To the north, Estero offers outlet and high-end shops, award winning restaurants, and cultural attractions. Mound Key Archaeological State Park is in Estero Bay. Accessible only by boat, visitors often launch from Lovers Key State Park. The island features interpretive displays about the Prehistoric Native Americans known as the Calusa.

While Southwest Florida has made a strong recovery from Hurricane Ian, be sure to verify hours of operation and availability when choosing dining and activities.
